UPDATE MAY 18 , 2020

UPDATE: MAY 18, 2020

Based on the latest guidelines provide by the state of Indiana, HCC will resume on-site worship services beginning Sunday, May 24. We will offer three idential services to ensure we can maintain appropriate sized gatherings in keeping with CDC recommendations. Service times will be 8am, 9:30am and 11am. You can register to attend one of these services here. Online services will still be offered on our messages page, on Youtube, and on our Facebook page. At this time, we still recommend that anyone over the age of 65 continue to remain home and join us online for worship. In the meantime, if you or a loved one are impacted in a way that requires assistance, please reach out to us by email (tgephart@hazelwoodchristian.org) or by phone: 317-539-6157.

NEW: RE-OPENING GUIDELINES

The leadership of Hazelwood Christian Church has offered the following guidelines and safeguards as we plan to resume on-site services on May 24, 2020. These same recommendations were recently communicated by mail to our current members and attenders.

  • Beginning May 24, three identical services will be provided to allow people to attend while managing group sizes to appropriate levels. Service times will be at 8:00 am, 9:30 am, and 11:00 am.
  • HCC leadership requests that individuals and families please sign-up for one of the three services either by going online to our website or by calling the church office at 317-539-6157.  Signup is requested by 5:00 pm each Thursday prior to Sunday morning services.
  • Signage will be placed at entrances and various locations to communicate requirements and to manage the flow of individuals to and from the church.
  • If you are not feeling well or have a fever, you should not attend church services.
  • At this time, it is recommended that individuals within the high-risk groups (e.g. 65 and older, diabetes, heart disease, or cardiopulmonary disease should remain home and view services on-line.)
  • Time will be allotted between services to ensure all people have exited the building from one service before people attending the next service enter.
  • Attenders are strongly recommended to where masks and facial protective equipment (According to CDC guidances, facial masks should not be used on children under 2 years of age).  Attenders should bring your own masks.
  • Hand sanitizers will be made available at entrances, in restrooms and at other locations within the church.
  • Distancing of at least six feet will be maintained within hallways and by restricting access to select pews. The balcony and side wing seating will be open for each service to enable appropriate distancing.
  • Ushers will seat and release people by rows to ensure appropriate 6 feet social distancing between family units.  Family units may sit together.
  • Communion juice and bread will be provided in pre-packaged sealed containers to prevent contamination. These will be made available at the sanctuary entrances prior to each service.
  • Offering trays will not be passed during the service. Everyone is encouraged to give online at www.hazelwoodchristian.org/home/giving. If you prefer giving by check or cash, secure lock boxes will be available at the Sanctuary entrances.
  • Printed bulletins will not be provided. Please access church news and information by going to the HCC website.
  • Cleaning crews will thoroughly clean the Sanctuary, bathrooms and other trafficked areas before, between and after each service.
  • The Nursery, Kids Zone and Kids Town will remain closed at this time. These areas will reopen consistent with CDC, State and National guidances for reopening schools. Parents are requested to keep children with them throughout their time within the church building.
